Amazon Influencer Program

Are you familiar with this program?

It’s similar to Amazon’s Associates program (their affiliate program) but is videos rather than links.

Your videos have the chance to be shown on product pages.

If someone watches your video and makes a purchase, you make a commission.

For example, you can see my video showing up on the product page for these Brooks shoes.

To be approved into the program, you need some sort of following.

They don’t have clear rules about the requirements—you just submit a social channel to them.

I’ve heard of Facebook pages with less than 2,000 followers and TikTok channels with less than 1,000 being approved.

Then you have to submit 3 videos that are manually approved.

Things to look out for in your videos — don’t have any personal identifying info, don’t mention pricing, and don’t show bar codes.

I first submitted videos about a year ago and they got denied.

I have no idea why.

I sort of forgot about the program until recently.

I created 3 new videos.

Got approved!

Even made my first commission already.

From selling a pair of Brooks shoes — a business that shares my name!

So what are my goals with this side hustle?

I’m not sure yet.

I know people who have made 1,000+ videos and make $3-6k per month.

I’ve heard of some people making tens of thousands of videos.

But that’s an entire business.

This side hustle is not related to my main content business and my fear is that it takes away from the main business.

What I plan to do is create videos for all items in my home and then assess from there.

The beauty is that you don’t have to purchase the items from Amazon.

They just have to be for sale on Amazon.

Sending Emails

I’ve never been so excited to send emails in my life.

We’ve used legacy tools like Mailchimp and Constant Contact.

I moved to ConvertKit, which I liked (until I didn’t).

My life changed when I found what I’m typing on now — Beehiiv.

Ok, my life didn’t change, but it’s one of the more enjoyable experiences I’ve had with a piece of software.

You can test out all of their features for free for 30 days with my link.

Let me know how you go!
