What I Learned From My Projects This Week...

Howdy!

I’m excited to hang out with you and 4,915 4,947 other box destroyers today! I’ll share my projects, the strategies I’m trying, and what I’m learning — all based on those business ideas I originally sent you.

Note: I’m often asked what tools I use in my business. Here’s my current list of tools to help you with your money-making ideas. I’m also tracking the AI tools I’m using. Reply to this email and ask me anything about them—I'm happy to help. Also, I always use referral links when I have them. I may make a commission if you purchase through the links.

I have lots of projects I’m not currently tracking in this newsletter.

A few examples…

  1. We started making $$ on MSN by writing on the platform. I’ll have things to share once I learn more…

  1. I am running the numbers on buying a campervan — I’ll use it for camping trips and rent it out — my goal is to break even on its costs.
*I’ll also have a backup place to sleep if I make my wife mad😂

  2. My new process for creation >> recording audio on a bike [yep, actually recording while cruising around town on a bicycle!] > podcast > video > transcript > medium > and then eventually X and Linkedin.

For real, for real, a bike! As shown in this thumbnail…

  1. I don't share my local media brand's growth strategies >> social media, email list, advertising, etc.

  2. Info about our group to connect creators with blogs and newsletters about their cities and regions.

But would it be helpful? Answer below…

Should I create content about these other projects?

🤖 How I’m Using AI This Week

This week, My best use case was creating a contract based on an existing one.

I took a contract I had signed when renting headphones for a silent disco.

I uploaded that PDF to ChatGPT and asked it to strip out the content and create a blank version for me to edit.

Next up, I added it to Google Docs to create my blank contract.

Then, I pasted it back into ChatGPT to ask if I missed any important parts.

That last step is key!

And it shows how I treated it as an assistant, not a genie in a bottle.

It helped take a 90-minute job and crunch it into 15 minutes.

I was just in Atlanta, GA and rounded the corner to see this! Found it to be interesting marketing…

As you know, there are tons of AI tools (like Claude shown above…)

With so many AI tools coming out that I need to test, I launched this doc to keep up with it all.

Feel free to bookmark - let me know what tools I need to add.

Ok, on to some project updates!

Domain Name Flipping [10/28/24 Update]

Today, I bought HelloSunsets.com and BuildIncomeStreams.com (which I will probably use personally).

I will spend a few more hours and hunt for unregistered domains that I think will be great fits.

You can also use a free tool like Expired Domains.

If you set up saved searches, you can hop on and quickly filter potentials.

I’ve now purchased 90 92 domain names (I’m buying at least 8 more if you have names you no longer need or want).

But no sales yet from my domains.

What I’m Learning: (no new updates from last week)

Facebook Page Growth Project [10/28/24 Update]

Beginning 10/28/24, I’m only going to publish updates on the page I’m focusing on (Gulf Coast Beach Vibes).

[if you’re looking for more tools for growing Facebook pages, I took this course (referral link) — solid course].

Our page is continuing to grow nicely.

And we just passed 11,000 12,000 13,000 — sweet!

I’m still gaining followers at $.03 each, but I’ve slowed spending on this page to work on organic growth.

Now I’m testing different post types, linking to blog posts, etc. - in this video, I talk about some of the things we’re finding successful.

What I’m Learning: (no new updates from last week)
I’m still waiting on an invite to the Facebook bonus program. I hope this will cover the cost of growth as I expand into other revenue streams. I’ll keep you posted.

Amazon Influencer Program [10/28/24 Update]

I’m still awaiting the final payout for the 125 new videos I created.

I also recently stayed at an Airbnb and made 6 or so vids — I’ll post when I get a bit of extra time. It’s all about batching the work!

If you want to learn more, an overview of the program is here, and my first update is here.

I’m also thinking of creating a simple digital product with some strategy.

Should I create this?

Should I make digital content to give you some of the secrets and tips I've learned?

(and if you want, you can check each weekly update since. I’ve come a long way from $2.81 per hour!)

I now have 103 107 videos. [I’m not going to update this just yet with my new videos, as everything I’ve done is about to adjust all this data…]

My total earnings equal $1,894.70 $1,988.40

After expenses, I’m making $55+ per hour.

What I’m Learning: You may receive special offers to make certain types of content by being in the program. It’s content that Amazon wants more of in specific categories. The only way to get these offers is to be in the program.

YouTube Music Channel [10/28/24 Update]

This will be my last update on this channel for a while, as it’s growing slowly and it’s getting moved to the bottom of my list (we’re about to ramp up video in other areas!)

We’ve hit 100 videos, but we’re not monetized with Google Adsense yet.

The Story: When I work, I usually listen to LoFi hip hop or Chillstep or Ambient tunes that help me focus. I launched my own channel with the idea that I would listen to my own channel and be my own best customer.

But our latest vid is doing pretty well, and I’m enjoying working to it!

We signed up for a month of Suno and created 100+ songs for our videos. I created a template using Descript that allows for quicker song creation.
I made a vid showing my process if you’d like to check it out…

Updated Stats:

101 videos
104 videos

100 subscribers
103 subscribers

What I’m Learning: We crossed 100 videos. I intend to move the importance of this channel to the bottom of my list, as it’s not growing as I hoped.
