What I Learned From My Projects This Week...
Howdy!
I’m excited to hang out with you and 4,823 4,915 other box destroyers today! I’ll share my projects, the strategies I’m trying, and what I’m learning — all based on those business ideas I originally sent you.
Note: I’m often asked what tools I use in my business. Here’s my current list of tools to help you with your money-making ideas. I’m also tracking the AI tools I’m using. Reply to this email and ask me anything about them—I'm happy to help. Also, I always use referral links when I have them. I may make a commission if you purchase through the links.

Ok, first, a question.
I’m realizing that I have a lot of additional projects I’m not even tracking here.
For example, we just started making $$ on MSN by writing on the platform.
I am also running the numbers on buying a campervan — I’ll use it for camping trips and also rent it out — my goal is to break even on its costs.
*I’ll also have a backup place to sleep if I make my wife mad😂
I have a new process for creation >> audio on a bike [yep, actually recording while cruising around town on a bicycle!] > podcast > video > transcript > medium > and then eventually X and Linkedin.
The final process will look something like this…
I currently don't share my local media brand's growth or strategies >> social media, email list, advertising, etc.
But should I?
Would it be helpful and interesting?
Help me decide by answering below!
Should I create content about these other projects? |
Before we get going, just a reminder that I launched a hangout for local media creators (blog, newsletters, etc.) called The Local Media Crew.
We’ve already got nearly 20 local creators hanging out and sharing strategies - it’s great!
I didn’t mean for it to be another side hustle, but if it keeps growing, I’ll track it in this email.
Come hang out with us if you run a local blog or local newsletter!

🤖 How I’m Using AI This Week
As I write this, I’m thinking, “did I do anything interesting with AI this week?”
I thought no, but then I checked my ChatGPT log.
Well, apparently I’m using AI all day, every day!
It’s become that natural to my workflow…
Did you ever test out the death calculator I added to my tool list?
Well, over my Saturday morning ☕ I decided to turn it into a simple website.
Why?
Well, for starters, it was pretty easy — I used Carrd to set up a single-page site.
But simple tools often rank in google (gets a lowercase g for now on 😜).
So…
My point is to see if, over time, I can rank for “death calculator” or “how long until I die.”
If I can, it will be another traffic source to refer people to my brand.
And if I get enough traffic, maybe I can even monetize the site directly.
Time will tell!
But not counting my time, it will cost me less than $50 PER YEAR to run the site — so it’s a simple gamble.
Plus, it’s a fun tool 😉
As you know, there are tons of AI tools.
With so many AI tools coming out that I need to test, I launched this doc to keep up with it all — you’re welcome to use it.
Feel free to bookmark - let me know what tools I need to add.
Ok, on to some project updates!
Domain Name Flipping [10/21/24 Update]
No sales yet from my domains.
I will spend a few more hours and hunt for unregistered domains that I think will be great fits.
You can also use a free tool like Expired Domains.
If you set up saved searches, you can hop on and quickly filter potentials.
I’ve purchased 79 90 domain names (I’m buying at least 10 more if you have names you no longer need or want).
What I’m Learning: (no new updates from last week)
Once you have your strategy dialed in and everything set up correctly, it can be passive.
[2x] Facebook Page Growth Project [10/21/24 Update]
[if you’re looking for more tools for growing Facebook pages, I took this course (referral link) — solid course].
Note: I just made a video discussing my strategy for growing my Facebook pages using AI tools.
You can watch it here.
Here are my updates.
Corporate Rain ads are back active. Ok, I just hit pause on them again in the middle of this email.
Even though the likes are still running $.02-$.03 per like, I don’t have a clear plan with the page. And my gut says the page might not be the best fit for Facebook.
[Ad prices may also increase just before the presidential election].
I’ll continue monitoring and update you as I have better plans.
The cost for email lead ads has increased to $.60/lead so I’ve paused that until I can dig in closer and look at adjusting the creative.
Our other page is continuing to grow nicely.
And we just passed 11,000 12,000 13,000 — sweet!
And I’m still gaining followers for $.02-$.03 each, but I’ve slowed spending on this page to figure out organic growth.
Now I’m testing different post types, linking to blog posts, etc. - in this video, I talk about some of the things we’re finding successful.
What I’m Learning: (no new updates from last week)
I’m still waiting on an invite to the Facebook bonus program. I hope this will cover the cost of growth as I expand into other revenue streams. I’ll keep you posted.
Amazon Influencer Program [10/21/24 Update]
I’m still waiting on the final payout for the 125 new videos I created.
I also recently stayed at an Airbnb and made 6 or so vids — I’ll post when I get a bit of extra time.
Tell me you’re an Amazon Influencer without telling me you’re an Amazon Influencer. 😂
I’m also thinking of creating a simple digital product with some strategy.
Should I create this?
Should I make digital content to give you some of the secrets and tips I've learned? |
(and if you want, you can check each weekly update since. I’ve come a long way from $2.81 per hour!)
I now have103 107 videos. [I’m not going to update this just yet with my new videos, as everything I’ve done is about to adjust all of this data…]
I’ve hired freelancers to make 30 videos.
My total earnings equal $1,706.91 $1,894.70
When you factor in my expenses for video creation, I’m now at $53.21 per hour.
That officially makes it the pay rate of a six-figure job!
What I’m Learning: You may receive special offers to make certain types of content by being in the program. It’s content that Amazon wants more of in specific categories. The only way to get these offers is to be in the program.
YouTube Music Channel [10/21/24 Update]
Slow and Steady… I’ll keep posting updates for this one (even if not much movement..)
Ok, so we’ve hit 100 videos we’re not monetized yet. We’ll probably slow production down here and regroup our strategy.
The Story: When I work, I usually listen to LoFi hip hop or Chillstep or Ambient tunes that help me focus. I launched my own channel with the idea that I would listen to my own channel and be my own best customer.
But our latest vid is doing pretty well, and I’m enjoying working to it!
We signed up for a month of Suno and created 100+ songs for our videos. I created a template using Descript that allows for quicker song creation.
I made a vid showing my process if you’d like to check it out…
Updated Stats:
98 videos
101 videos
100 subscribers
103 subscribers
What I’m Learning: We will keep creating different types of vids (just made a beach waves video that’s pretty great) and assess where we are once we cross 100 videos. At that point, I’ll take a hard look and decide how to proceed with this project. Whether to Pause or Keep Going.
