Niche Site Summit

I saw a promotion for this summit, and it got me really excited.

25 different site pros will be speaking and sharing their current strategies!

Yes, I already have websites and know how to build them.

But we should always be learning!

This is a great free summit, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.

I’ll be attending.

I’ve seen some pretty brutal graphs this week.

Some bloggers have lost 50% of their site traffic from Google’s most recent update.

Our sites don’t seem very affected, but then again, our traffic is down a good bit over the last 12 months.

While I love SEO and the massive amounts of traffic you can get, I’m now a firm believer in building out multiple traffic sources to your brand.

SEO - social traffic - email newsletters » all are important ways to get traffic and things you should be building.

So, if you lost a lot of traffic, hang in there.

This next week, I’m interviewing Mark Matthews.

He’s the owner of 42 Freeway, a local media website, similar to our Mobile Rundown brand.

He’s wisely built this brand and has overtaken many of his ‘small area legacy news brands’ with his content.

He often gets 60, 70, 100, or even 200+ shares on his Facebook content that drives crazy traffic.

I can’t wait to pick his brain about his process.

We’re putting the final touches on our Mardi Gras blog content.

We’re hoping to hit 200,000+ monthly pageviews again this year during the month of Mardi Gras.

We did this last year, and we only had a few articles.

We made our first $5.75 on our media brand, as we’ve started integrating affiliate links.

Someone booked a helicopter tour!

I just hopped over to grab a screenshot and we’ve made an additional sale in the last 24 hours - nice!
